Im Rahmen der Werkschau Tanzplan Potsdam bietet die fabrik erstmalig vier offene Ateliers an.
Vier Künstler bzw. Künstlergruppen werden ihre Arbeitsprozesse für interessierte Teilnehmer öffnen.
Sie werden künstlerische Praktiken vermitteln, mit denen sie momentan arbeiten,
und gleichzeitig dazu einladen, diese Praktiken gemeinsam weiter zu entwickeln und zu formen.
Die vier konkreten Vorschläge sind somit keine festgelegten Workshopformate, sondern
entstehen aus der Mitte künstlerischer Arbeitsprozesse heraus. Eine Einladung für gegenseitiges Lernen, für aktive Teilnahme und mannigfaltige Ergebnisse.
Die Teilnahme an den Ateliers ist kostenfrei.
Bewerbungsschluss ist der 1. September 2010.
For the first time, fabrik Potsdam offers four open ateliers as part of the Werkschau Tanzplan Potsdam.
Four artists / artist groups will open their work processes for interested participants. They will teach
artistic practices, which they are currently working with and simultaneously invite the guests
to continue to develop and form these practices with them. The four concrete suggestions
are thus not fixed workshop formats, but are created in the midst of an artistic working process.
An invitation to mutual learning, active participation and diverse results.
Participation in the ateliers is free.

Walking to investigate, to protest, to accompany, to trespass, to march, to survive, to escape... to walk away from a lover and to meet with a new one… As courtship, as tourism, as ritual, as meditation…for health, for sex, for pleasure, for forgiveness, for justice, for independence, for truth, for freedom Walking came from evolution and from necessity and it went everywhere, usually looking for something.
London based performance company A2, are looking for 40 people of all ages, backgrounds & experience to participate in workshops, leading towards 2-3, 2hr, street-walking events in Vienna.
A2 is looking for people who are keen and willing to:
- Attend cir. 7-8 in/out door creative workshop sessions, to research & develop the project between 24th Sept - 7th Oct 2010 Sessions will last between 3-4hrs & will be flexible according to individual needs.
The final resultant event will take place 8th, 9th, 10th October
- Playfully explore walking in the city and to carry out both deliberate and subliminal gestures and interventions. These may include: hugging or kissing for a long time, walking backwards, bare foot, in silence smiling, crawling, standing still, protesting against something, praising something else, leaving written thoughts or a trail of something behind….
and it went everywhere aims to explore and subvert psycho-geographical urban behavioral patterns and unacknowledged social ‘viruses’, whilst reinventing new alternatives.
What can be personally and publicly transformed in one journey?
What can 40 people achieve together, which cannot be done alone?

A2 create original experimental projects, exploring new performative language forms, which interrogate & reflect the human experience. Venues in which A2’s work has been presented include: The Royal Opera House; Institute of Contemporary Arts; The Place / London; Kapelica Gallery / Ljubljana, Slovenia; Grec Festival / Barcelona; Off limits Festival / Dortmund / Germany; Tmu-na theatre / Israel. This event will be the company’s 2nd commission by Werkstätten und Kulturhaus (WUK) Vienna, following the successful presentation of The Future of Death, which also involved 40 people, in 2008.

FESTIVAL LAB - Theory and practice for the next generation of European Festival Directors and Producers.
An initiative of 8 festivals in 8 countries
The project combines an initial academy, workshops and residencies at eight European theatre festivals in 2011.
This is a call for the new superheroes for the performing arts world, the next revolutionary
generation.
FESTIVAL LAB is a fantastic opportunity for the next generation of festival directors and
producers from across Europe to explore and showcase their ideas at pioneering festivals
whilst receiving inspirational and hands on support from experienced practitioners.
With its unique mix of academy, workshops, residency and a contemporary artistic
programme, FESTIVAL LAB creates a European platform for the brave and the bold to
experiment, reflect and learn. Each aspect is designed, developed and realised by the FIT
Festival Directors as part of the programme of the hosting festivals.
FESTIVAL LAB is a project in three steps for one year.
o Following a European-wide call, 20 participants will be chosen to take part in the project.
o All selected participants will attend the five day academy combining theoretical and practical work.
o The participants will attend a minimum of five three day workshops at the eight participating FIT festivals.
o Following the academy, on the basis of their programme proposals, five selected participants will be
offered a residency (up to 6 months) at one of the five coordinating FIT Festivals, where they will further
develop and realise their project. This project will then be presented as part of the hosting international festival.
To answer the call, you must:
o Be over 22 years old and a resident of a European country
o Have realised professionally and independently one or more projects within the performing arts field
o Be fluent in English – written and spoken
o Be prepared and available to attend all the elements of FESTIVAL LAB
You must have basic skills in the following four areas: conceptual development of a project;
liaising with artists; project management; and managing a budget. We are also looking for a
commitment to working internationally.

Das Festival Belluard Bollwerk International und das Migros-Kulturprozent
suchen künstlerische Projekte, die sich mit Hoffnung auseinandersetzen.
Zu Beginn dieses zweiten Jahrzehnts des 21. Jahrhundert steht sie immer wieder im Rampenlicht und auf Podesten politischer und kultureller Bühnen: die Hoffnung. Sie dient oft der Rhetorik, um die Massen für Umweltschutz- und Globalisierungsfragen zu mobilisieren oder einen Konsens in Sicherheitsfragen herbeizuführen. Doch ein zeitgenössisches Verständnis des Konzepts Hoffnung könnte sich zu einer nützlichen Strategie entwickeln, eine andere Perspektive gegenüber unseren gesellschaftlichen und künstlerischen Haltungen zu gewinnen.
Heutzutage ist Hoffnung nicht mehr das Glück einer fernen Zukunft oder die Utopie vom Paradies. Seitdem wir mit Haut und Haar von den allumfassenden Träumereien des Kapitalismus eingenommen wurden, glauben wir nicht mehr an die grossen Ideologien. Wir hoffen nicht mehr auf einen Umsturz mit blutiger Revolution. Hoffnung ist eher ein ständiger Begleiter im Alltag für das ewige Hier und Jetzt geworden: in jeder Situation, jeder Beziehung und jeder ethischen Konstellation.
Mit anderen Worten: Hoffnung bedeutet, Räume und Beziehungen zu überdenken, das Wagnis einzugehen, Veränderungen zu erlauben, egal wie klein und in welcher Form sie sich auch präsentieren. Eine hoffnungsvolle Geste verändert eine Situation: zwischen dir und mir, zwischen dir und deinem Umfeld und im selben Moment verändert sie uns beide.
Das Festival Belluard Bollwerk International und das Migros-Kulturprozent suchen Projekte, welche Hoffnung in Bewegung bringen, sei es in Form einer experimentellen Aktion, einer Installation oder Intervention, in Form einer Performance, eines Spiels, einer Einladung ans Publikum oder einer anderen herausfordernden Vorgehensweise.
Hoffnung als Erfindung, Intervention, als eine Bewegung, ein Wechsel, als Choreographie, als Tagträumerei, als Potential, als Revolution, als Gastfreundschaft, als Verhandlung,...
Die Ausschreibung richtet sich an Künstler und Praktiker aus anderen Bereichen, an Menschen aus Freiburg und dem Rest der Welt, an Einzelpersonen und Gruppen.
Die ausgewählten Projekte werden als Teil des Belluard Festivals 2011 realisiert.

Wegen der hohen Arbeitslosigkeit und des großen Migrationsanteils innerhalb der Bevölkerung der Stadt Hallein macht God’s Entertainment Egalität zum Thema. Ausgehend von Fragen der Illegalität wird eine performative Erforschung lokaler Strukturen erprobt. Wann entsteht politisch illegaler Raum? Wann wird ein Körper unter der Gesetzeslupe als illegal angesehen und/oder im Rahmen gesellschaftlicher Gewohnheiten als fremd bewertet? Wann führen Körper und Raum zur Ausweisung oder Ausgrenzung? Wann wird ein Körper zur Identität, ein Raum zur Lokalität?

Das junge Wiener Performance-Kollektiv God‘s Entertainment macht seit mehreren Jahren mit politisch und sozial aufgeladenen Performances und Aktionen von sich reden. Mit ihren radikalen Ansätzen suchen sie nach neuen spannungsreichen Kraftfeldern in unterschiedlichen sozialen und kulturellen Räumen, Themen, Strukturen und Formen außerhalb theatralischer Konventionen. Aus diesem künstlerisch-sozialen Geflecht entstehen dabei, oft unter Einbeziehung des Publikums, soziale Plastiken von großer Schärfe.

the call for participation is now open for the international live-media floor of netmage 11, a festival aimed to explore media innovation within the context of electronic arts, that will take place in bologna on january 2011. the live-media floor is the main section of the netmage festival program, an international platform to confront practices of generating and/or mixing images and sound of every type and format: a window on cinematic and inter-media aesthetics that change form year by year. participation is open to projects that employ electronic, electroacoustic, analogue and cinematic means to produce visuals and sound.
